Peter O' Toole to star in 'Lassie Come Home'

Peter O' Toole is to head a new Lassie movie. LASSIE COME HOME will start shooting in Ireland soon, but will be set in Yorkshire, and Scotland, according to Sky News.

The film is based on the 1943 original movie that starred a very young Elizabeth Taylor. O' Toole will play the Duke Of Rudling who buys the dog from a poor family and takes him to a remote Scottish castle. But the film will show Lassie desperately heading back to his former owner south of the border in time for Christmas, says the news channel.

Lassie became a popular TV series after a number of films were made.
