Screen
stunner Jessica Biel is set to roam the sci-fi/fantasy genre a little further,
following up on "Blade" with "Next" for troubled director
Lee Tamahori.
Based
on Phillip K. Dick's 1954 short "The Golden Man", the story will see
Nicholas Cage as a man able to see future events, recruited to help prevent a
global terrorist plot. His position will force him to choose between saving the
world or himself and his love interest, played by Biel. Julianne Moore also headlines.
Although
the third "Blade" was a bit of a let down, Biel's career is shifting
into high gear nonetheless, with "London" currently making the rounds,
and a key role opposite Edward Norton on "The Illusionist".
As
for "Next", filming was due start next month for an early '07 release,
but things might be delayed following the arrest of director Tamahori 3 weeks
ago, on solicitation charges.
