Sandler and Don Cheadle are in talks to star in a 9/11 themed move named REIGN
O'ER ME for Sony Pictures. The film is the third major project to go into production
with the September 11th theme, after Oliver Stone's WORLD TRADE CENTRE for Paramount
(starring Nicolas Cage), and Paul Greengrass's FLIGHT 93.
Variety
reports that REIGN O'ER ME revolves around a man (Sandler) who lost his family
on Sept. 11 and has never recovered from his grief. He runs into his former college
roommate (Cheadle), who has become a doctor and who is determined to help his
ex-roomie come to grips with his loss.
The
film will cost less that $20 million and will go into production next year under
the eye of Mike Binder (THE UPSIDE OF ANGER), who wrote and will direct.
