Scorsese is to 'quit Hollywood.' THE DEPARTED director is said to be looking to
concentrate on making lower budget movies, starting with an adaptation of the
Japanese novel, THE SILENCE. His reason to quit tinseltown is the risk involved
with making big-budget movies.
THE
SILENCE is a 15 year labour of love for the acclaimed director. The plot, according
to the BBC is said to revolve around the story of two 17th century Portuguese
missionaries.
