Star Wars Celebration - Report #2

Well, I'm going into my twelfth hour of being awake now, and I'm starting to flag, but this afternoon's Star Wars events in Leicester Square have more than made this journey worth while. I really don't know what I was expected, but those expectations (whatever they were), were exceeded by far. If you've just hit the site, check out our first report from very early this morning, here.

I thought we were maybe going to get a couple of tunes from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, then have to wait a few hours 'til the premiere itself kicked off. Well...no, because 20th Century Fox kept the thousands on hand in the square entertained for almost three hours this afternoon. The orchestra kicked off at around 1pm with various instrumentals from the Star Wars saga, all set to footage from the film on huge TV screens behind. The film footage was the same as what was on the recent DVD that came with the soundtrack. They went on for over an hour, and went down a storm - literally, as the heavens opened for the second half of today's entertainment.

TV host, Richard Bacon, welcomed three of the saga's stars on stage to field questions from the rain-soaked audience. They were, Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Anthony Daniels (C3P0) and the legend that is Christopher Lee (Count Dooku).

My time is limited now, as I'm in a Net cafe just around the corner, but check back tomorrow, when I hope to have some excellent video footage of what these three had to say about their respected parts in the Star Wars Saga. For now, here's some pics of this afternoon's happenings.
