We hearing that the Paul Schrader version of Exorcist: The Beginning is to get a cinema outing. Morgan Creek Productions dropped Schrader from the movie in September 2003, and then signed Renny Harlin to make a new version that was 'more blood and guts' than psychological horror.

The 'Schrader cut' wil reach US cinemas on May 20th (ooh, day after Star Wars), but no UK release has been set.

Call me skeptical b'stard, (you skeptical b'stard!), but I reckon that the producers have had this planned for a while. Two movies, same movie. Genius marketing WB! But hey, they both had super-big budgets and I must say that that's just my opinion. And I'm always way off the mark when it comes to this kind of thing. So I'll shut it. Either way, we're all looking to see what Schrader had to offer and we'll be the judge on whether it's better than Harlin's version or not.

Exorcist: The Beginning: The Renny Cut hits DVD in the UK on April 18th. The disc is out in the US now.
