If
it ain't "Broke", don't vote for it Posted

Ang
Lee's "Brokeback Mountain" is beginning to look like the first genuine
shoo-in for nominations for Oscar. The cowboy love story (notice that I didn't
classify it as the "gay" cowboy love story) has not only garnered strong
buzz and accolades, but now it is getting the awards to back it up. After the
Venice Film Festival win as best picture and director, the New York Film Critics
Circle and the National Board of Review have also taken off their hats to the
film with some of its top award honors. This is the start of the awards that are
the precursor to the Oscars. Next up, the Golden Globes nominations are today
and since they have both drama and comedy/musical separate, there will be plenty
of hype and nods to go around.
