We've
been provided with some new info for next week's region two DVD release for CONFETTI.
It
is up to the owner of Confetti magazine (Jimmy Carr) and his editor (Felicity
Montagu, best known as Alan Partridges long-suffering assistant Lynn) to
choose the three couples who will reach the final of the competition. After rejecting
dozens of couples, they settle on two would-be stars of 1940s Hollywood musicals
(Martin Freeman and Jessica Stevenson), a pair of tennis nuts (Stephen Mangan
and Meredith MacNeill) and a couple of naturists (Olivia Colman and Robert Webb)
who plan to tie the knot in the nude. The film follows the couples as they plan
their dream days and attempt to win the grand prize of a £500,000 house,
with the help of a pair of very camp wedding planners!
Isabelle
and the hugely obnoxious Josef are the most desperate to win with their tennis
theme and think the others are getting preferential treatment. Matt and Sams
musical plans are in danger of being ruined by her overbearing mother (Steadman),
while Michael and Joanna are left reeling by the editors decision that they
cant get married naked. Before the end there will be tears, tantrums, angry
sister-in-laws, disgruntled nudists, death threats with tennis rackets and serious
amounts of laughter but only one wedding can win!
Shot
in a mockumentary style, the films hilarity, spontaneity, and perfect comic
timing were born of completely improvised performances by the stellar British
cast. Although inspired by director Debbie Isitts experience of her sisters
wedding, prior to filming none of the actors or the director knew
what the films outcome would be!
Below
are the special features and box art for the release.
