On
September 12th, 2006 WARNER BROS.HOME VIDEO will release the winner of six International
Film Festival awards GLOOMY SUNDAY on DVD. Based on the novel by Nick Barkow,
GLOOMY SUNDAY tells the tale of a love triangle between a restaurant owner, a
waitress and a pianist that is set in the back drop of WWII, and proclaims to
tell the tale of the origins of one of the 20th Centuries most heart breaking
songs, that song of course is GLOOMY SUNDAY!
The
film itself is in German but is subtitled in English, but as any good film does
it transcends it's language barriers and let's viewers from any culture into the
lives, love and pain of three people during World War II. GLOOMY SUNDAY is not
for the light hearted, as it tugs at emotions one doesn't want to see or know.
