Mel Gibson to film Pope John Paul II biopic

This story originates from The New York Post. It seems that Mel Gibson is looking to bring a film based on the life of Pop John Paul II to the screen.

The newspaper is reporting that Gibson has already had a production team working on the project, and had sent them to Rome last Friday to film scenes for the ending -- the Pope's funeral.

Gibson, who made a fortune from his last movie, The Passion of the Christ, is a devout Roman Catholic.
