In just two days time, the 2005 Festival De Cannes takes place on the Cote D'Azur in the South of France. Thousands of filmmakers, journalists, executives, film fans and even web editors will decend on the famous Croisette for what promises thebest festival yet (though I say that every year). But hey! This time we can look forward to seeing STAR WARS EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH get its World premiere, the new Woody Allen movie MATCH POINT is screened, as too is Lars Von Triers MANDALAY, and Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's SIN CITY is in competiton. And guess, what, you can read all about the goings on here, at The Hollywood News throughout.

I'm gonna kick things off today, two days ahead of the Festival, to bring you news of the Wallace and Gromit movie, which Dreamworks will take to France. Well, this is news about what is going to happen, this coming Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Carlton Beach Café.

You may remember last year, when Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Jack Black were out publicising SHARK TALE. Well, that was all down to Dreamworks, and this year the studio is going to the dogs in support of its new clay-animated film from Aardman Animation, WALLACE AND GROMIT AND THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT. We're told that Gromit himself will be making an appearence on the beach.

Immediately following, the Cannes Film Festival's Artistic Delegate, Thierry Frémaux, will introduce DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, who will host a tribute to Aardman. An official part of the festival, the tribute will be presented at 10:30 a.m. in the Palais at the Salle Bazin, and will feature appearances by "Wallace & Gromit" creator and director Nick Park, and Aardman co-founders David Sproxton and Peter Lord.

The presentation will include clips from Aardman's award-winning short films, as well as their first collaboration with DreamWorks Animation, the comedy hit "Chicken Run." The audience will also be treated to a preview of the upcoming films "Wallace & Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," and "Flushed Away," which marks Aardman's first foray into computer animation. The tribute presentation will close with a question and answer session with all the participants.

So remember, the place to be is the Carlton Beach Café, Cannes, this Thursday 12th May at 9.30am. We'll bring you news and hopefully some pics from the event, just after it happens.

Cannes '05. Can't wait!
