My
day has just been made as I've just been told that a special edition of John Woo's
materpiece A BETTER TOMORROW is on its way to DVD.
Made 20 years ago, this
action movie had a profound influence on the Hong Kong movie-making industry,
and later on an international scale. An undeniable action classic, A Better Tomorrow
spawned innumerous imitations in its wake and its success brought the stellar
talent of John Woo and Chow Yun-Fat to the attention of Hong Kong and international
audiences.
One
thing about this release is that it contains a featurette entitled 'Crossings',
which documents the work of director John Woo. There is also an interview with
the man himself and star of the film, Chow Yun-Fat. For a full list of extras,
track down the page.
Below
is also a look at the box art. The DVD is in region two stores from June 26th.
