The success of Sin City at the box-office is bound to spawn more graphic novel adaptations, and today we can bring you news on another comic book that will be brought to the big-screen. 'The Spirit' revolves around a masked detective, believed dead, who fights the criminals of Central City from his cemetary base.

The original comic book hit shelves all the way back in 1940, written by Will Eisner, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Jeph Loeb is writing the live-action version of the comic for Odd Lot Entertainment and Batfilm Productions.

The Spirit has been reprinted by DC Comic (home of Batman and Superman) in recent years.
