Well, the last of the 'GA's' award nominations our out, and this time it's
the turn of the Director's Guild
of America, who have announced the five people who they think is the 'best
director' of a movie released in 2005. Steven Spielberg finally makes a nomination
list for his drama MUNICH, as does George Clooney for his effort GOOD NIGHT AND
GOOD LUCK. Making up the list is Bennett Miller for biopic CAPOTE, Paul Haggis
for the superb CRASH and Ang Lee for possible favourite, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. 
Clint
Eastwood will also receive the Directors Guild of America Lifetime Achievement
Award in recognition of his distinguished career in motion picture directing.
It's the highest award that a director can receive from the DGA. The
awards are dished out on Saturday, January 28, 2005, at the Hyatt Century Plaza
Hotel Los Angeles. |
