Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has given a frank, and indeed extremely rare interview to Jonathan Ross, for this Friday's Jonathan Ross show on the BBC.

In the interview, Doherty told Ross that he is still battling to beat his drug addiction, and that he is tested twice a week for heroine and crack.

"Being clean means I can sit down and rediscover writing. My song-writing suffered, being on drugs." He added in the interview to be screened on Friday.

He also went into his on/ off relationship with Kate Moss as well as his experiences in prison where he stayed for six months after burgling his friend, Carl Barat's home.
