The PGA (the Producers Guild of America) have released the nominations for
their 2006 awards. For Best Film, the PGA nominated BROKEBACK MONTAIN, the Phillip
Seymour Hoffman starrer CAPOTE, Paul Haggis's debut as a director CRASH, George
Clooney's GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK and the Johnny Cash biopic WALK THE LINE. The
awards are considered to be a good indicator for the nominations for the Oscars.
CHICKEN LITTLE, MADAGASCAR, ROBOTS, TIM BURTON'S CORPSE BRIDE and WALLACE AND
GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERERABBIT were all nominated for Best Animated film.
THE LIFE AND DEATH OF PETER SELLERS is included in the 'Long Form Television'
nominations as it was produced for TV by US cable channel HBO. The awards, which
also include television comedy, drama and variety, are dished out on January 22nd.
