I am smiling as I write this as I can picture it already. A well fu*ked up 1956 with car chases, spectalicious stunts and visual effects overseen by the mac-daddy himself, Mr. Vic Armstrong.

Yeah the iconic SFX & VFX specialist and legendary stuntman you see on every behind the scenes feature, explaining what wizardry he's integrating into a particular film, whether it be the opening scenes of TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY or GANGS OF NEW YORK, the Bond films (THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH of DIE ANOTHER DAY), CHARLIES ANGELS, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK ...I could go on (his longer and more enviable than almost anyones' -yeah, it's that Vic Armstrong). For his full list of credits take a look at the IMDB.

Vic Armstrong is truly a legend, and its no surprise he's picked SHOOTING STARS to direct, as it's full of legends both on the production team (Skywalker Sound, Oscar winning editor, Anne Coates, who's worked on Erin Brockovich and Chaplin, are involved), and in front of the lens too (The film is, via VFX, making Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Humphrey Bogart 'live' again, like the recent Gene Kelly 'Singin' in the Rain' Volkswagon ad).

Coming off of Spielberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS, and JJ Abrams' MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III (also starring Tom Cruise), Armstrong is primed, and this is exactly the kind of picture he can take to the ultimate level.

SHOOTING STARS is primarily set in Cannes and its finale takes place at the glamorous Monaco Grand Prix (with cameos from some F1 legends).

SHOOTING STARS has been (obviously) aligning brand interest for the past few months and, in our opinion, doing everything correctly to ensure the picture is not only top-shelf, but will exede both entertainment and box-office expectations that were already quite high. Profitable? Duh!

The picture's producers are Clark Westerman (I, Lucifer) and Richard Hewitt (Cold Mountain, Alfie, Shaun of the Dead, Star Wars, Epsiode II - Attack of the Clones), and they confirmed Armstrong's onboarding and the deal, which was negotiated by Armstrong's Agent, David Gersh of The Gersh Agency.
