Matt Reeves’ The Batman and various other UK-based productions have been given the go-ahead to resume shooting following the COVID-19 shut down earlier in the year. The Guardian reports that the UK government and health bodies have signed off on new coronavirus safety rules paving the way for some high-profile projects to roll cameras once again.
The Batman was part-way through shooting in Scotland and stopped cameras back in March, the same month as the introduction of lockdown, not just in the UK, but around the world. The Robert Pattinson-led comic book movie is just one of many films or TV shows that can now plan for the cast and crew to come back together. This will be a considerable boost to the local economy with thousands employed by Hollywood companies up and down the country.
The Batman currently has a release date set for 1st October 2021, pushed back from its original summer slot.
