Here’s some wonderful news for fans of the mighty Rocky franchise as news has reached us that a feature documentary narrated by the Academy Award-winning screenwriter and star Sylvester Stallone is set to roll out on the digital format this summer. The news comes to us from the PR Newswire who says that the movie will kick off on the digital platforms in North America from early June with other territories to follows.
The feature will celebrate 40+ years of the iconic boxing franchise which first graced our screens back in 1976. Titled Becoming Rocky: Birth of a Classic, the film is written and directed by Derek Wayne Johnson.
The official synopsis is as follows:
The film follows the iconic “Rocky” story which became the ultimate underdog movie, and more than 40 years later, Sylvester Stallone recounts the making of the beloved classic through rare home movies filmed by “Rocky” director John G. Avildsen.
Becoming Rocky: Birth of a Classic will be released in North America from 9th June. We’ll bring you more info on other territories as it becomes available.
