With the film now out on DVD, Blu-ray etc. for you to watch at home in all its glory, you might be on the lookout for some more behind the scenes goodness to see how Sam Mendes and co. brought this magnificent WWI movie 1917 to the screen. There is some stuff on the DVD and Blu-ray but there has been so much pop up online from the various VFX production companies that helped bring some of the magnificent set-pieces to the screen.

Here’s the latest one from MPC who handles some of the key scenes in the movie and in this short video we get before and after shots from the stuff they worked on. It’s really impressive.

In 1917 at the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them.
