Colin Farrell In Talks For ‘Penguin’, Andy Serkis For Alfred In ‘The Batman’

Marvel/YouTube

Here are a couple of casting news tidbits for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. The cast of this film is becoming more and more interesting and indeed amazing by the day. It appears that none other than Colin Farrell is in talks to play the role of The Penguin in the feature, which Andy Serkis is also in negotiations to play the role of Alfred Pennyworth. The film would see Serkis reunited with Reeves following a very successful collaboration on the recent ‘Planet Of The Apes’ movies.

Serkis is no stranger to comic book fare either, after playing the role of Ulysses Klaue in both Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther for Marvel, but now it looks like he will made his debut in the DC world in The Batman which is set for shooting next year. Farrell also isn’t unfamiliar with superhero movies either after playing the role of Bullseye in the Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck back in 2003.

The two are still reportedly ‘in talks’, so no official confirmation yet, but these are two awesome casting choices which makes The Batman so very interesting.

Already cast in the film is Robert Pattinson as the title character, alongside Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and the recently cast Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.

The Batman is slated for release on 21st June 2021.
