The brand new trailer for Terrence Malick’s latest film, A Hidden Life, has debuted online. The film received its world premiere earlier on this year at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, largely to positive reviews.
The cast of the film includes August Diehl, Valerie Pachner, Maria Simon, Tobias Moretti, Matthias Schoenaerts, Karin Neuhäuser, and Ulrich Matthes. It also features Michael Nyqvist and Bruno Ganz in their final performances. Mallick writes and directs.
The official synopsis is as follows: Based on real events, from visionary writer-director Terrence Malick, A HIDDEN LIFE is the story of an unsung hero, Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife Fani and children that keeps his spirit alive.
