Netflix has debuted a new trailer for new Eddie Murphy film Dolemite Is My Name, a film heading to the streamer later this year.
In the film, Murphy portrays real-life legend Rudy Ray Moore, a comedy and rap pioneer who proved naysayers wrong when his hilarious, obscene, kung-fu fighting alter ego, Dolemite, became a 1970s Blaxploitation phenomenon.
The feature is written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, the duo behind the likes of The People Vs. OJ Simpson, Man On The Moon, and The People Vs. Larry Flint. Craig Brewer, the filmmaker who helmed the brilliant Hustle & Flow and who will direct the sequel to Coming To America, is also behind the camera on this one.
