The Biggest Movie Releases Of 2019

2019 has been a remarkable year for film, with many looking at record-breaking numbers. This does not come as a surprise as a number of films were well supported for success by punters using sports betting codes at the start of the year. Here we cover the biggest movie releases of 2019.

Toy Story 4 – Out Now

Starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Tony Hale and Keanu Reeves to name just a few. This was the fourth instalment in Pixar’s Toy Story series and the sequel to 2010’s Toy Story 3. The movie was directed by Josh Cooley and has been in major success. The film has grossed over $990 million worldwide, which meant it became the sixth highest grossing movie of the year and ninth highest grossing animated film of all time.

Yesterday – Out Now

This romantic comedy film was directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis. It was based around the original screenplay by Jack Barth and Mackenzie Crook. The project was announced in March 2018 and as expected has been a great success. It has already grossed over $124 million worldwide from a budget of just $26 million.

The Lion King – Out Now

One of the most anticipated releases of recent times was the remake of the Lion King. This animated movie was directed and produced by Jon Favreau following his success with 2016’s The Jungle Book. The film starred a number of big names including the likes of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, John Oliver, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The movie has received mostly glowing reviews and has already grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide. This means it became the second highest grossing film of the year and 12th of all time.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – Released 14th August

This comedy drama crime film has been written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is expected to be a huge success, starring the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Bruce Dern and Al Pacino. The movie is set in 1969 Los Angeles, where a fictional aging television actor and his stunt double navigate the changing Hollywood film industry. The movie has had positive reviews and features Luke Perry, which meant it was the last film to do so before his death earlier this year.

It: Chapter Two – Released 6th September

This supernatural horror film is the sequel to the 2017 film It. Both are based around the 1986 novel It by Stephen King. The film is directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Gary Dauberman. The movie is set in 2016, 27 years after the events depicted in the first film. It again stars Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, along with James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain to name just a few. This is expected to be a major success.
