Taika Waititi is to return to the superhero fold for a fourth movie in the Thor franchise. The word comes from The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision who reported the news of Tuesday.
Waititi previously directed Thor: Ragnarok, arguably one of the best in the series, and indeed one of the funniest. The news comes with the added information that the new Thor project would affect the planned Akira live-action movie that the filmmaker had been developing over at Warner Brothers. That film is now reportedly on indefinite hold, so reports the trade.

Waititi is a busy boy with his next project, JoJo Rabbit, which is reportedly now completed, arriving in cinemas later in the year. Will is head to the fall film festivals? We’re certainly hoping so but nothing has been confirmed.
There’s no further news on the fourth Thor movie, only the fact that Waititi will direct and that Chris Hemsworth is expected to return as the title character.
More as it comes in.
