Signature Entertainment has set a release date for the gripping Spanish political thriller The Candidate. It will hit cinemas at the start of next month.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Manuel (Antonio de la Torre), an influential regional politician whose high-class lifestyle is based on nefarious and illegal business, had everything in his favour to take the leap into national politics. However, as a leak involving him in a corruption scandal threatens to break his entire party, he becomes trapped in a struggle for survival.

The film is being described as House of Cards meets Michael Clayton and will arrive in cinemas and on digital download on 2nd August.
