In a new poll, Robin Williams’ Mrs. Doubtfire has been named the nation’s favourite movie dad ahead of Father’s Day this coming weekend.
The 90s classic, starring Robin Williams, topped the list of the nation’s favourite film father, with over a quarter of Brits (26%) choosing the dad turned child-minder, followed by antagonist and leader of the “dark side” Darth Vader from Star Wars (22%) and King of the Pride Lands, Mufasa from The Lion King (20%).
The research, which was conducted by DiscoverLSQ, who will be hosting a special screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at Cineworld in Leicester Square, on Saturday 15th June in celebration of Father’s Day, found that Brits clearly prefer a more controversial and outlandish father in a film, compared to a more loveable and endearing father figures such as George Banks from Father of the Bride (13%), or Marlin the Clownfish from Finding Nemo (15%).
Take a look at the list below.
