2019 could see a renaissance for the very talented Renée Zellweger. Not only does she have the upcoming Netflix Original series What/If, a new trailer for which we’ve just got hold of, but there’s also the high-profile Judy Garland biopic Judy, which is looking to be released right in the middle of awards-season.
What/If will come to Netflix first, later this month, and sees Zellweger play the lead role of Anne. The anthology seriesis described as a ‘raw, voyeuristic examination of acceptable people doing unacceptable things– A conflict driven series of high stakes morality plays with a first season narrative focusing on two struggling newlyweds who accept a powerful woman’s ethically perilous proposition to secure a badly needed financial windfall.’
Judy is very different. That film will be set in 1968 London, 30 years after the legendary Hollywood star appeared in the classic The Wizard Of Oz, and will debut in cinemas in October, presumably after the autumn film festivals where awards-baited movies are rolled out to critics.
You can check out the new trailer for the What/If below. The series hits Netflix on 24th May.
