Just last week we brought you the official selection for this year’s 72nd Cannes Film Festival, and now we can reveal the full line-up for the separate strand, Director’s Fortnight – aka Quinzaine des Réalisateurs which is now in its 51st year. There are some juicy genre offerings this year, and the strand has just elevated to my most anticipated of this year’s festival.
There will be new films from the likes of Robert Eggers, who brought us the superb The Witch a few years ago. His new film stars Robert Pattison and Willem Dafoe and is titled The Lighthouse – reportedly shot on 1920s camera equipment with black and white film stock. Yes! There’s also new offerings from Takashi Miike (First Love), Wounds with Armie Hammer and Dakota Johnson, and Zombi Child from director Bernard Bonello.
