A Pop-Up ‘POKÉMON Detective Pikachu’ Experience Is Coming To Celebrate The Upcoming Film

We’ve just received work that a POKÉMON Detective Pikachu is on the way ti celebrate the release of the forthcoming movie. Warner Bros. has announced that the pop-up will arrive in London’s Covent Garden next month.

The two-floor pop-up event, celebrating the world of the first-ever live-action Pokémon adventure, POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, is to open in the capital’s Covent Garden on 3rd May. Detective Pikachu-inspired lounge with coffee bar serving yellow bubble tea and themed coffees, interactive photo opportunities and yellow furry walls. It also includes a stunning neon space inspired by the movie’s Ryme City setting, with karaoke booths and nail art stations by WAH Nails.

According the release, there will be plenty of hands-on activities including Detective Pikachu cupcake icing, recharge yoga sessions, Psyduck-inspired head and shoulder massages and Mr. Mime-inspired miming workshops with Electric Cabaret. Spaces in these workshops will be free of charge but ticketed. More details can be found over at WB.

When ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, his son Tim wants to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Detective Pikachu, they join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.

POKÉMON Detective Pikachu also stars Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Suki Waterhouse, Omar Chaparro, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, with Ken Watanabe and Bill Nighy. It opens in cinemas from 10th May.
