It is a film that has the top billing shared between John Travolta and international music sensation Shania Twain, but Burning Rubber also stars Michael Madsen. That’s the two Vega brothers in the same film. Obviously, this film has nothing to do with the characters both played in Tarantino’s classics (Travolta played hitman Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction while Madsen assumed the role of the terrifying ‘torturer’ Vic Vega in Tarantino’s ear-slicing debut Reservoir Dogs), but does look a little interesting all the same.
The need for speed runs in his family…
Burning Rubber (aka Trading Paint) hits the digital and DVD markets on the 27th May. Here’s the official synopsis:
John Travolta (Face/Off) stars as veteran race car driver Sam Munroe in the action packed and testosterone fuelled BURNING RUBBER, a gripping story rooted in highspeed danger.
When a retired car racing legend is drawn back to the dirt track when his son, an aspiring driver, joins a rival racing team it sparks an intense and dangerous competition between father and son. Together they must overcome family and professional conflict whilst balancing competition, ego, resentment and a racing nemesis to come out stronger on the other side.
