The PosterSpy Annual Alternative Poster Portfolio Kicks Off This Weekend

The art of poster design is alive and thriving if PosterSpy has anything to say about it. This weekend sees the return of the Annual PosterSpy Alternative Art Exhibition Portfolio review!

The global creative hub for poster designers, PosterSpy, will be hosting their first ever alternative poster art Portfolio Review events on 5th and 6th April in Shoreditch.

There will be 10 artists work showcased at the Old Street Gallery, a collection of work shortlisted by a panel of industry professional from hundreds of applicants within the PosterSpy community worldwide.

The grand opening of the exhibition on Friday 5th, beginning at 6pm will reveal the winner of the competition and two runners up. At 7pm, enjoy a special Q&A with this year’s grand prize winner. To celebrate this year’s portfolios being bigger and better than ever with food and drink all evening!

On Saturday, PosterSpy has two special industry talks scheduled. Doors open at 11am. At 2pm Doaly, the UK based artist who has worked for some of the world’s biggest studios will be presenting which will be followed by a Q and A. The second talk will be taking place at 4pm and the audience will be given the chance to pick the brains of UK based artist Dan Mumford, who will be talking through his experiences, his screen printing techniques and how he has become one of the illustration industry’s most recognisable artists.

Dates: 5th and 6th April
Location: The Old Street Gallery, 62 Paul street, EC2A 4NA (Approximately 5 minutes from Old Street Station)

Friday 5th- Grand Opening and Awards Presentation
Time: 6pm-10pm
There will be free food and drink all evening and a Q&A with the winning artist at 7pm.

Saturday 6th- Exhibition and Industry Talks
Time: 11am-7pm

For both talks guests are welcome to bring their Doaly or Dan Mumford posters to be signed.

During both Friday and Saturday, copies of PosterSpy: An Alternative Movie Poster will be on sale on site. Card payments only.
