Did anyone see the disaster movie The Wave from a few years ago? Made on a smaller budget, the film rivalled big-budget Hollywood blockbusters in terms of its production values and mind-blowing special effects. The film’s director Roar Uthaug would go on to direct the reboot of Tomb Raider and The Wave itself would spawn its own sequel called The Quake, the home release details for which have just been released.
Could reports of subterranean tremors beneath the Norwegian city of Oslo predict an imminent catastrophic earthquake? This sequel to the acclaimed The Wave (2015) is another tension- filled, high-stakes geo-thriller.
The Quake follows a geologist – played by the ever-watchable Kristoffer Joner (The Revenant, Mission Impossible: Fallout) – who races against time to save his estranged wife and two children when a devastating quake strikes the city. Your nails will dig into your chair during this acclaimed thriller with jaw-dropping scenes of devastation and powerful performances.
The DVD and digital release has been set for 20th May. Take a look at the box art above.
