The upcoming genre movie The Curse Of La Llorona has been revealed to part of the hugely successful The Conjuring series. Warner Bros., the studio that releases The Conjuring series, will debut ‘Llorona’ later this year.
The confirmation of its inclusion in The Conjuring universe, which has also been shared with the likes of the Annabelle movies and The Nun, was reported by Bloody Disgusting, who caught the film at the SXSW festival over in Austin, Texas.
The genre website gave it a fairly positive review, saying that the film ‘excels at being an intimate, spooky haunted house tale. With a slightly different aesthetic, it still feels right at home in the Conjuring universe. For those completely unfamiliar with La Llorona, Chaves delivers a basic crash course that gives a tease of just how scary the tales of her have been over generations.’

You can read more of their reaction at the end of the link above. Here’s some more about the movie.
La Llorona. The Weeping Woman. A horrifying apparition, caught between Heaven and Hell, trapped in a terrible fate sealed by her own hand. The mere mention of her name has struck terror around the world for generations. In life, she drowned her children in a jealous rage, throwing herself in the churning river after them as she wept in pain. Now her tears are eternal. They are lethal, and those who hear her death call in the night are doomed. La Llorona creeps in the shadows and preys on the children, desperate to replace her own. As the centuries have passed, her desire has grown more voracious…and her methods more terrifying.
Of course, other films in the series include the likes of The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2 – both of which are directed by James Wan, as well as Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation and the forthcoming Annabelle Comes Home, which will debut in cinemas this summer. Then there’s The Nun, which was released on the big screen late last year, and there are plans for a third movie in the main ‘Conjuring’ series, and then we have The Crooked Man, a further film in the series rumoured for release in the future. Whether the series is expanded further is yet to be seen – be it on further merchandise, toys or even gaming options, etc. A Pokerstars bonus code offers deals on such things, all available online.
Here’s the trailer for the film, which debuts in cinemas from 3rd May.
