It is the film that saw Olivia Colman run away with the Best Actress Academy Award (and deservedly so), and now we have some new details on the planned home release for The Favourite, hitting the home formats in the coming weeks.
In early 18th-century England, a frail Queen Anne (BAFTA and Academy Award Winner Olivia Colman) occupies the throne, and her closest friend, Lady Sarah (BAFTA Winner Rachel Weisz), governs the country while tending to Anne’s ill health and volatile temper. When new servant Abigail (BAFTA and Academy Award Nominated Emma Stone) arrives, Sarah takes Abigail under her wing as she cunningly schemes to return to her aristocratic roots, setting off an outrageous rivalry to become the Queen’s favourite.
The Favourite has been one of the most critically-acclaimed films of the year, receiving 7 BAFTA wins including Best British Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress and winner of Best Actress for Olivia Colman. Also nominated for 10 Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress for both Rachel and Emma’s performances and winning Best Actress again for Olivia Colman.
The Favourite hits on Digital Download on 26th April and on Blu-ray, DVD & VOD 13th May. Here are the planned bonus materials.
Special Features Include (Digital Download, Blu-ray & DVD):
