BAFTA and EE have launched an initiative for individuals from across the UK that have done something amazing simply ‘For The Love of Film’ by hosting them as guests at the EE British Academy Film Awards 2019. Keira Knightley is helping to get the message across with this new video to promote the project.
Here are some more details about how you can get someone you know to the BAFTAs next month.
BAFTA and EE are looking for those who bring the love of film to the nation, whatever the weather! Did you or someone you know fight to save a local cinema? Or did you take the cinema to the locals on wheels? Do you know someone’s who’s been popping popcorn behind the counter for years? Or have you been managing a cinema for an extraordinary length of time? Then BAFTA and EE want to thank you for all you do!
BAFTA rewards excellence in film recognising those people in front of and behind the camera at its annual awards ceremony, but BAFTA and EE’s For The Love Of Film aims to recognise a number of individuals whose non-production roles bring cinema to Britain – could it be you? Winners will selected by a panel of film and industry experts, including Edith Bowman, Rankin and BAFTA Committee member, Andrew Orr.
The prize is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join EE and BAFTA at the country’s biggest celebration of film, including an overnight stay at The Savoy (with Champagne Taittinger and Villa Maria wines in the room on arrival), a private chauffeur to the ceremony in an Audi A8, hair and make-up appointments from Paul Edmonds London and Lancôme, Atelier Swarovski loaned jewellery to complete their red carpet look, and the official Nominee Gift Bag given to award nominees which includes a Nespresso VertuoPlus coffee machine, Bottletop tote, a magnum of S.Pellegrino water, and official souvenir brochures and red carpet photographs!
To nominate someone you know, or yourself, head to BAFTA’s website to find out more:
The deadline for submissions is Friday 25th January
