‘World War Z’ Sequel To Start Filming In 2019 – David Fincher Still To Direct

A sequel to the Brad Pitt zombie movie World War Z may go into production as soon as 2019 with David Fincher still set to direct. Work is continuing on the screenplay for the follow-up to the 2013 movie with Utopia screenwriter Dennis Kelly bashing things out.

Producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner told Variety that filming is set for June of next year with Fincher still very much attached to helm, and Brad Pitt starring, just as soon as he finishes up work on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which continues to film in Los Angeles. Fincher and Pitt previously worked on the likes of Seven, Fight Club and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

Here’s a video from the red carpet event for the film Beautiful Boy where Gardner and Kleiner confirmed the news to the trade.

More as it comes in.
