Thomasin McKenzie (Leave No Trace), Charles Parnell (A Million Little Pieces), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW), Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation), and Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop) are all joining the cast of the soon-to-start-shooting Top Gun sequel Top Gun: Maverick. She will join the already cast Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller in the Joseph Kosinski-helmed film set-up over at Paramount.
Deadline reports the news of the new castings for the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced and Peter Craig, Justin Marks and Eric Warren Singer-scripted movie sequel, coming to screens some 33 years after the debut of the ground-breaking original. The trade says that McKenzie will play the daughter of Connelly’s character in the film, while Ellis will play a pilot, Salahuddin an engineer, Ramirez will mount up also as a pilot, as will Barbaro.
Top Gun: Maverick, which may not be its final title, will fly into cinemas in the summer of 2019.
