Danny Boyle is no longer the director of the next James Bond movie. The filmmaker has parted with the production, which was due to start shooting later this year, following creative differences. The news was announced last night on the official 007 social channels.
The short statement read: “Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25.”
No further explanation was given.

The Bond shoot was scheduled for December with a November 2019 release date already in the diary. Who knows if filming will go ahead on time as a new director needs to be sought. Who will that be? Well, there are already rumours (of course), one being that Mission: Impossible – Fallout filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie could be a possibility. This from Variety’s Justin Kroll on Twitter:
Take this with a grain of salt but a name already being floated as a replacement is McQuarrie. This is just a rumor and has no clout behind it but is an obvious choice following FALLOUT. Not sure if he would be up for it since he has said he wants to do original material
