A Power Rangers sequel could be on the way. ComicBook.com have the news that according to a report from licensing.org, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner has told analysts about ‘the plans they have for the Power Rangers franchise and how they want to capitalise on it as much as possible beginning with a “transitional” period beginning in 2019 where Hasbro will release “new entertainment content and licensed products” into the next year.’
It adds that “Hasbro will work with a film studio to develop a new Power Rangers movie as a follow-up to the 2017 release.”

Last year’s film, released through Lionsgate in the UK, took a tad over $142 million around the world – this from a reported budget of $100 million. That doesn’t sound great to be, but the powers that be certainly feel that a sequel has value. The film was received positively from critics though, so maybe that has linked in to a sequel being worthy.
