Samuel L. Jackson & Cobie Smulders Join ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders have joined the cast of the Sony Pictures comic book movie sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home, the follow-up to Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland as the title character/ Peter Parker. Mention of their casting may be a perfect spoiler for Avengers: Infinity War, but I’m guessing that if you haven’t seen the box-office behemoth by now your loyalty to the franchise can be questioned.

Nick Fury and Maria Hill (Sam Jackson and Cobie Smulders)

Jackson and Smulders will team as Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively in the movie, which is now shooting in Europe. Vulture reports the news of the duos casting. They join Jake Gyllenhaal, who is playing the villain as well as Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori.

Jackson has been busy. He will appear in the first big Marvel movie of 2019, the recently wrapped Captain Marvel, and who knows, maybe even the fourth Avengers movie that has its release date wedged between CM and Spidey 2. We recently revealed that Jackson would be de-aged for the former, the Brie Larson-led vehicle that is set in the 1990s (so the devastating events of Infinity War have no influence).

More on all of these as it comes in.
