Lammar was recently the subject of a really rather good documentary Bombshell – The Hedy Lamarr Story, which was released through Dogwoof in the UK earlier this year. I believe you can watch it on Netflix in some territories and it really is worth tracking down.

Lamarr is credited with coming up with concepts that led to the invention of Wi-Fi and GPS. She was even inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014. She was also a major player on the Hollywood movie scene from the 1930s to the 1950s after being offered a film contract by studio head Louis B. Mayer. Her best known films are the likes of Algiers (1938), Boom Town (1940), I Take This Woman (1940), Comrade X (1940), Come Live With Me (1941), H.M. Pulham, Esq. (1941), and Samson and Delilah (1949).

The Gal Gadot Hedy Lamarr series will be produced by The Affair co-creator/executive producer Sarah Treem, as well as The Handmaid’s Tale producer Warren Littlefield and Endeavor Content.

Gadot is currently filming the sequel to DC’s huge 2017 entry Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman 1984 will arrive in cinemas in 2019. She’s also set to film Red Notice, the next big movie from Dwayne Johnson and Rawson Marshall Thurber that is currently in pre-production for a 2020 release. We’re assuming that Gadot will  slot in filming on the Hedy Lamarr series sometime after that, but that hasn’t been confirmed officially.

More as we get it, but do watch the trailer for Bombshell – The Hedy Lamarr Story below, and do track it down if you can. It’s brilliant.
