Deadline is reporting that Ryan Reynolds is at the centre o a Home Alone redo over at Fox – titled Stoned Alone. Reynolds will produce the comedy, which will be directed by Augustine Frizzell, the filmmaker who brought us this year’s SUndance break-out Never Goin’ Back (which we reviewed over here).
The trade reports that the planned film ‘centers around a twenty-something weed growing loser who misses the plane for his holiday ski trip. He makes the best of things by getting high. Paranoia sets in and he believes he hears someone break into his house. Turns out thieves have broken in. Fully stoned and fueled by paranoia, he tries to thwart the thieves and defend his castle.’
No word as to whether Reynolds is involved at all acting-wise (or MaCauley Culkin too, for that matter), but he will definitely produce through his Maximum Effort production house, which is set-up over at Fox.
