We are hearing that the Deadwood movie is officially a go over at HBO. TheWrap is reporting that HBO programming boss Casey Bloys officially confirmed the news over the movie during the TCA summer press tour today.
The trade reports that shooting will take place this October for a spring 2019 release on the cabler.
Deadwood is set in a mining town that was not part of any U.S. state or territory in the post-Civil War years and thus was literally lawless. Deadwood attracts people looking to get rich after a huge gold strike, as well as those looking to capitalize on the lack of organized law in the town, built on land stolen from the Sioux.
The original series ran for three seasons and is frequently labeled as one of the greatest TV dramas of all time.
More news on the Deadwood movie as it comes our way.
