There are some rumours circulating this morning that Jeremy Renner is perhaps heading for a major role in the new Spawn movie. The project, which is being imagined by comic book creator Todd McFarlane, is currently in development and That Hashtag Show, a hugely reliable source, are saying that Renner is set to play Detective Twitch Williams in the film.
Forgive me, I’m wasn’t completely in the know of the character, so I did a little research. Turns out that this is a pretty major role. This from the Wikia for the Williams role.
Twitch Williams is a soft-spoken Private Investigator who used to be a police officer for the New York City Police Department. He has partnered with Sam Burke for years, but Burke frequently doesn’t pay much attention to what Twitch has to say.
Twitch is skeptical of God and recently started believing though he can’t understand how God would harm his sons, as he could never allow harm to one of his seven children.
The new Spawn movie is set up at Blumhouse with Jamie Foxx in the titular role.
Jeremy Renner can currently be seen running around all over the place in the movie Tag (saw it last night – wasn’t a fan). He’s also Hawkeye in the ‘Avengers’ series, a role he’s rumoured to be returning to for the fourth film in the Marvel ensemble series.
More on the Spawn movie as it comes our way.
