Three actors have been shortlisted to play the role of Goose’s son in the soon-to-start-production Top Gun sequel Top Gun: Maverick. Nicholas Hoult, Glen Powell and Miles Teller are the three frontrunners for the key role in the film, which is being directed by Joseph Kosinski.
The three have reportedly tested for the role in Florida recently.
Anthony Edwards played the role of Tom Cruise’s character’s wing man in the original 1986 movie, but was tragically killed in action, something that Maverick blamed himself for. Goose’s son, which hasn’t been specifically named, will be a big part of the new movie. Hoult, Powell and Teller are now the only three being looked at, so reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Shooting will start on Top Gun: Maverick (a title which will change) this summer for a July 12, 2019 release.
