Some two weeks after its debut in the UK, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom finally opened in its domestic territory to $150 million. The haul, enough to bag the number one spot and relieve Incredibles 2 of the number one spot was less than the big opening of the franchise reboot Jurassic World, which hit with $208 million in the summer for 2015.
The Pixar sequel made another $80.9 million over the weekend, bringing its US total to $350.3 million over 10 days. The film opened in China, India and Thailand this weekend and scored a grand total of $134.6 million from everywhere bar the U.S. The film’s total now stands at $485 million with the film still to hit the UK.
Ocean’s 8 bagged the number three spot with another $11.65 million. The film has now broken through the $100 million milestone domestically but also took in $26.9 million from other territories over the weekend. The film now has a global total of $171 million.
U.S. comedy Tag bagged the number four spot with $8.2 million taken, while superhero sequel Deadpool 2 rounded out the top five with $5.25 million in the bank. The movie has now taken over $700 million globally since its release a few weeks back.
