Shooting has definitely started on It: Chapter 2, co-star James McAvoy has confirmed via his social media channels. McAvoy is playing the adult version of Bill Denbrough in the film, which is set 27 years after the first chapter, which was released to huge acclaim and indeed box-office in 2017.
It looks like McAvoy has had his favourite cheese imported for the production. Is that Dairy Lea?
Day 1 on IT 2. Glad you got the memo guys. #passthecheeseplease #derryordairy

Here’s the book synopsis if you’re unfamiliar.
It is a group of children who see – and feel – what makes Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurks, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one’s deepest dread. Sometimes is appears as an evil clown named Pennywise and sometimes IT reaches up, seizing, tearing, killing . . .
Time passes and the children grow up, move away and forget. Until they are called back, once more to confront IT as IT stirs and coils in the sullen depths of their memories, emerging again to make their past nightmares a terrible present reality.
The cast of the film also includes Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, James McAvoy, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan and a returning Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise.
Gary Dauberman wrote the script while Andy Muschietti returns to direct. The film has a release date set for September 6th, 2019.
