Electronics Company Apple Looking to Make Movies

Apple is one of the biggest brands in the world, and revolutionised the modern mobile device industry over ten years ago. Over that time, the company has mainly focussed on providing customers with a series of modern devices, including laptops, smartphones, and tablets. In recent years, Apple has begun reaching to other industries, with the latest being that of Hollywood. Apple has since announced their aim at creating feature films in upcoming years.

It was recently revealed that the electronics giant is very near to closing a deal that would see them acquiring the rights to an animated movie, which would be part of its upcoming original series of videos that are to be released at a later date. The company is in talks with Cartoon Saloon, which is an Ireland-based animation production firm that has been nominated for Oscars for its work in previous movies. Those involved in the deal asked that their identities not be revealed to the public, which Apple has agreed to.

While the film itself has not gone into the production phase, and it will be at least another year before it hits any kind of screen time, Apple has been using the time to buy distribution rights for countries around the world, including the United States. It has not yet been made clear how exactly the film would be offered to audiences. While it’s possible that Apple may turn to the big screen for their movie debut, they also own a number of video services that could potentially house the film. It has been speculated that Apple wants to feature the film in theatre in order to be considered for the Academy Awards, but this has neither been denied or confirmed by Apple or Cartoon Saloon.

At this point in time, however, the deal has not been officially set in stone, and it’s very possible that it might fall through in the coming weeks. It seems unlikely, however, as Apple is currently aiming to take on the big streaming sites such as Netflix, Amazon, and Google, and make its mark in the world of online streaming, which is quickly becoming the media consumption platform of choice as more people go online.

Much of what Apple has funded so far, such as Carpool Karaoke, has been exclusive to their music streaming service. While the service is built for playing music from an online source, the platform also has the full capability of playing high definition series and films, as well as sports betting NZ. It’s speculated that this might be the platform that Apple will build upon in the future as they begin moving into the visual entertainment market.

It’s also been revealed that Apple hired Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg to create and build a studio in-house that would allow them to start filming series. The move reportedly set Apple back $1 billion, which makes it seem as though the company is serious about its transition into the film and television industry.
