Lea Thompson Wants To Direct A ‘Howard The Duck’ Movie For Marvel

Back To The Future star and filmmaker Lea Thompson reportedly wants to direct a ‘Howard The Duck’ movie for Marvel Studios, and is even set to pitch it to them. On the press rounds for her her directorial debut The Year of Spectacular Men, Thompson reveals her intentions for the property.

She spoke with Inquisitr.

“Oh my god, from your lips to God’s ears. I don’t know. To tell you the actual truth, I am going to Marvel to pitch ‘Howard the Duck,’ a new movie…In like three weeks. I want to direct the ‘Howard the Duck’ remake [laughs]. Why not dream big, right?”

Wow. We so hope this comes to fruition. Of course, Thompson played the role of Beverly Switzler in Willard Huyck’s 1986 Howard The Duck vehicle Howard: A New Breed Of Hero.

The character of Howard was seen in a post-credits scene in the very first Guardians Of The Galaxy. Hopes of a feature featuring the cult character may not be far off.
